An extraordinary person designs an extraordinary residential complex. He is an architect, frontman and singer of the band "Antis" and one of the initiators of the Lithuania movement: Algirdas Kaušpedas.
In his youth, he was an architect at the Kaunas Institute of Building Design, later serving as executive secretary of the Kaunas Architects' Association. For two years, he was the head of Lithuanian National Television. From 1988 to 1990, Kaušpedas actively participated in the restructuring of the Lithuania Movement. The Initiative Group was founded by the Academy of Sciences, and Algirdas Kaušpedas was one of its sponsors. He brought the struggle for freedom from populist leaders to the common people by inviting them to rock marches. The band "Antis" consisted of amateur musicians: architects who dared to parody Soviet life during those times of stagnation and became singing revolutionary leaders.
In 1993, Kaušpedas founded the joint-stock company "United Force." He built houses not only in Lithuania, but also in Germany, Denmark, and Norway. He created a sales system for diverse housing projects called "United Force Houses," published catalogs about various housing projects, and founded the modular house development and construction company JSC "JP Haus.".
The city of Vilnius awarded him honorary citizenship in 2012 for his work in the Lithuanian movement and for promoting patriotism among young people. In 2015, Kaušpedas participated in the "Mission Siberia" project, which aims to honor injured and killed people from rural areas, promote intergenerational understanding, and give young people the opportunity to learn more about the past.
The real estate Company MG Valda commissioned the star architect.
MG Valda is Lithuania's largest property manager and developer. No other Company in Vilnius offers and rents more mid-range, upper-range, and premium apartments. MG Valda built, among other projects, the exemplary "Pušu Terasos" residential complex in the desirable Antakalnis district.
In the shade of the swaying pine trees of the prestigious Antakalnis district (meaning "Place on the Hills"), the residential complex "Pušu Terasos" (meaning "Pine Terraces") was built, which integrates harmoniously into nature.
The highlight is the over 100 m² roof terraces made of larch planks on the seventh and eighth floors. They are considered a bold architectural solution and a model for other real estate Company . But that's not all: the complex has also become a model for sustainable development projects throughout Lithuania. In 2013, the project was nominated as a significant contribution to the development of green buildings, and the following year it was recognized as a benchmark for urban development. In 2015, an international Team of real estate experts named "Antakalnio Terasos"—of which "Pušu Terasos" is a unit—one of the top three residential projects in the Baltics. That same year, this residential complex was also selected as one of the best real estate projects in Europe at the largest international real estate exhibition in Cannes.
And we are proud of this: Feldhaus Klinker were chosen for this bold architectural solution. The clinker bricks from the Bad Laerplant support the clear design language, create harmonious accents, and unite the individual building elements into a cohesive whole.
The Feldhaus Klinkerslips were used. The sintra- thin brick with a hand-molded look offers a high-quality selection of thin brick that combine all the advantages of modern industrial production with the look of handcrafted bricks: With low water absorption, they have a clear advantage over original hand-molded bricks and are also colorfast, frost-resistant, and exceptionally hard.
