Lüerstraße School in Hanover: The new Sophienschule on Lüerstraße replaces the listed building on Seelhorststraße and offers space for 1,368 students and 110 staff members. Modern classrooms, specialist rooms, common areas, an auditorium, a cafeteria, and administrative offices are being built on 11,200 m². The bright, barrier-free building, constructed to passive house standards, promotes communication and provides quiet spaces. A photovoltaic system supplies the sports hall with electricity. The design is by architect Alexander Benthaus, who is very pleased with the positive interest in the apartments. The new buildings are part of an urban development concept that, in addition to residential use, also includes a daycare center to meet the increasing demand for childcare places in Selm.
