Sacred buildings
Project: Church of the Redeemer, Cologne-Weidenpesch, R911DF14 and K911DF. Hybrid new building comprising a church, community center, parish office, apartments, and a daycare center. The building creates a striking focal point in the urban landscape. Despite its slightly elevated height, its compact form prevents it from appearing disproportionate to the surrounding area. Instead, it clearly defines the church square and articulates the intended visual impact. This effect is further enhanced by the inviting design of the generously recessed entrances in the facade.
