Sacred Buildings
Project: Erlöserkirche Cologne-Weidenpesch, R911DF14 and K911DF. Hybrid new build comprising church, community hall, parish office, apartments and daycare center. In urban planning terms, the building makes a striking statement within its surroundings. Thanks to its compactness, it does not appear disproportionate despite its height development, which is slightly exposed relative to the surrounding area. On the contrary, the church square is clearly defined by it, and the intended outward radiance is articulated. This effect is reinforced by the inviting gesture of the entrances generously cut into the facade.
