Outdoor facilities
With the inclusion in the urban development program "Active city and district centers", the municipality Bad Laer received the fundamental promise of a urban development of the state of Lower Saxony in order to meet the need for redesign and modernization in the town center. However, the usual funding rate of 66% (two thirds) for this federal-state program was not granted in Lower Saxony in 2010. However, municipalities that agreed to cover the state share of 33% (one third) of the eligible costs themselves were able to take up the federal financial aids of 33% (one third). Due to the need for renovation and the effects to be hoped for for the location, the municipality stated despite the considerable additional burdens resulting from this decision. Opportunities also opened up for the citizens. In the course of the construction work adjacent to their property, they were able to take the opportunity and, in turn, make upcoming renovations and modernizations cheaper. On the one hand, they were able to claim funding, and on the other hand, they have increased the investments.
