On June 24, 2024, international design sizes in Essen came together for the award ceremony of the Red Dot Design Award to celebrate the winners of this year's competition. The invitation accepted outstanding chief designers of global brands such as Fiskars, Hilti, Ducati, Philips, Lixil, Thule and Logitech. The first part of the ceremony took place in the Essen Opera House, the Aalto Theater. For the subsequent after-show party, they met in and around the Red Dot Design Museum , which is located on the site of the disused Zeche Zollverein.
Red Dot Gala in the Essen Opera House
At 6 p.m. on June 24, the light in the hall of the theater designed by Alvar Aalto was darkened. After a big opening, Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of Red Dot, the around 1,300 guests at the Red Dot Gala 2024. The Red Dot Gala has been celebrated in the Essen Opera House for 30 years. Mayor Thomas Kufen also focused on this long -term partnership in his speech. After the opening words, we went to the first round of the award ceremony. Together with the Italian juror Luisa Bocchietto, Peter Zec presented the first trophies to the winners of the Red Dot: Best of the Best. This was followed by trophy handings by the jurors Omri Bar-Zeev from Israel and Nina Mihovec from Slovenia, both of whom took this task Red Dot jury
Designer 'Night-after-show party between design and culture
After the award ceremony, we continued to the after-show party, which took place in and around the Red Dot Design Museum on the site of the disused Zeche Zollverein. From a tour of the museum to a relaxed end of the evening in the beer garden to the exuberant celebration, there was something for every taste. On the dance floor in the middle of the museum, DJ Chrissi D heated the party mood and made the guests dance until the early hours of the morning.
