With almost 3,300 visitors, Architect at Work Berlin was nearly as well-attended this year as it was before the pandemic. The atmosphere among the exhibitors was correspondingly positive, and the unique location perfectly complemented the concept.
Colleagues Jens Fricke and Carsten Junge presented the trade audience with another way to creatively design facades using thin brick : External thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) have been common practice for many years, and monolithic construction is also gaining popularity. The ventilated rainscreen facade offers a particular advantage over established systems in terms of sound insulation. Both colleagues used the trade fair for in-depth discussions and to exchange information with industry professionals.
