The project Maximiliansquartier in Berlin Schmargendorf, which was awarded the "Best Architects Award '22", was commissioned by the Groth Group and implemented by the Berlin architecture firm Modersohn and Free Life. The design is an architectural highlight in many ways. The middle corridors of the apartment blocks C3 and D2 are not long hoses with lined up apartment doors, but are divided into two smaller sections by the intermediate elevator. With the Blocks C4 and D1, which are up to 26 meters deep, the corridor length is reduced by jumps. In addition, the trick is to improve the orientation towards the sun through the light trapezoidal form of the north-south-faced building C4 and D1. With the east-west-oriented blocks, there are only two apartments based on the north, which nevertheless benefit from a corner room with a balcony to the east or west from the sun run. Giebel quotes make the building a "house", the contour of the eaves line gets out of the scale and here and there a building corner is also trained as a roof pergola at the request of the apartment owner. The door and window walls are accentuated by dark glazed Thin Brick , Thin Brick on the facade, which is kept in delicate tones, are contrasting.
