We've come a step closer to CO2-free brick production
The expansion of self-generated renewable energy, which began in the summer, is taking further shape. As another milestone in this development, construction work on the gas transfer station on the factory premises was recently completed. "Thanks to the new gas transfer station, we are now able to blend up to 30% hydrogen into the natural gas required for the combustion process," explains plant manager Alexander Schröder.
The expansion of the photovoltaic systems is also progressing. Currently, approximately half of the factory hall roofs are equipped with PV modules, corresponding to a capacity of about 4 MWp. The networking of the system in the form of a ring main and the construction of several new transformer stations are proceeding in parallel. The necessary cable network requires cable cross-sections that are completely new even for an industrial Company like Feldhaus Klinker .
The coming winter months will be used to complete the grid infrastructure for the existing PV modules.
