The discussions about the ecological balance of buildings are gaining driving. A study on behalf of the Federal Association of German Brick Industry. V. shows that over two thirds of the German residential buildings older than 50 years are made of brick. Nevertheless, bricks in ecological analyzes are often underestimated. The data provide important impulses for sustainable construction and the circular economy. Attila Gerhausen, general manager of the Federal Association, emphasizes the longevity of brick buildings and demands appropriate consideration in the ecological assessment.
